Job Title: Team Lead, Data Management & Quantitative Analysis   Position Summary:  Describe below the primary purpose and function of this job The candidate will have ownership of all the work completed by the OTC Pune team. The incumbent will be expected to be the primary point of contact for audit, client, compliance, management and trustee issues. The incumbent will raise all relevant issues promptly to senior management. The incumbent will work with your colleagues in other locations to ensure best practice items are rolled out globally. The incumbent will work with the technology team to ensure all database developments are prioritized and successfully launched in the live environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesPercentage of  Time 1.   Security Pricing
  • Direct and regularly spot check the daily processing of OTC assets, manual price input and price exception validation review for a variety of Market Data clients. Ensure this process is robust and efficient.
  • Risk mitigation is a key responsibility, you will be expected to review processes against current market best practice and implement any improvement necessary. Evidence of regular reviews taking place is necessary.
  • Monitor daily processes ensuring staff complete as per agreed guidelines and procedures. Ensure outstanding issues are followed up on a regular basis and kept to a minimum.
  • Maintain accurate MIS details ensuring statistics are updated on a daily basis confirming volumes, timeliness and accuracy details.
  • Provide training on the theoretical/technical nature of all OTC securities to staff members.
  • You will be responsible for the integrity of the security master data on the OTC database, review and sign-off the master records completed by the analysts and supervisors.
  30% 2. Work Scheduling, Communication & Training
  • Coordinate the completion of work under your review ensuring tasks are scheduled according to deadline priorities.
  • Where high volumes are projected, flag any potential service delivery issues as early as possible and assist other team members as directed by line-management.
  • Participate in regular team meetings providing updates on relevant developments and getting feedback on operational issues.
  • Promote an environment of open and clear communication and maintain a friendly and professional relationship with all internal and external parties.
  • Develop and oversee training plans for the teams to ensure their skills sets are continually expanding.
25% 3. People Management
  • Ensure staff have clear objectives and up to date job descriptions relevant to their current role
  • Prompt identification, escalation and resolution of any performance issues within the team
  • Identify and communicate new staffing requirements to line-management
  • Regular 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports
25% 4. Quality Control
  • On-going review of operational processes and controls against written procedures and guidelines.  Document details and submit any proposed procedural changes to line-management for approval.
  • Ensure audit, client, compliance, management and trustee queries are highlighted, thoroughly investigated and responded to in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators of 99.75% accuracy and 97.50% timeliness are achieved and exceeded where possible.
  • Work with line-management streamlining operational processes to reduce risk and improve efficiency. Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives to ensure agreed client service levels are met.

  • 5-6 years of experience within financial industry preferably
  • Prior experience of OTC assets mandatory.
  • Prior experience managing a team in the OTC pricing space is desirable.
  • Strong MS Excel or VB skills.
  • Must have a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must have an ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Dependability, flexibility and the ability to lead by example.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.

Problem Solving:  Describe the nature and complexity of the problems this position encounters on a recurring basis.  Include information regarding the level of innovation required, if any, and include mention of environmental factors that may add to the complexity of resolving issues. The job would require the incumbent to direct and inspect daily pricing of OTC assets and ensure price exceptions are fully researched. The incumbent is required to understand theoretical and technical nature of OTC securities and data requirement for accurate calculations of positions. The incumbent is expected to ensure the accuracy of the security data on the OTC database, review and sign-off the master records.  Nature & Area of Impact: To what degree does this job affect the business (i.e., through interactions with customers, making decisions, defining or setting strategy, etc.)?  What is the breadth of the impact that this job has, either positive or negative (i.e., affects own team, department, function, business unit, geography, entire business, etc.)? The position requires the candidate to support the assistant manager to communicate with both internal & external stakeholders including risk management.  This is a relatively high risk associated process since it deals with price quality which may have a significant impact on client’s portfolio holdings. This role is very critical as candidate would be authorizing work done by the administrators any misses or oversights would lead to errors & potential loss to company. Interactions / Interpersonal Skills:  Describe the nature and level of interactions this job has with others, both internally and externally.  Explain any specific interpersonal skills necessary to successfully perform this role (i.e., negotiation skills, represents business at external events or to governmental bodies, etc. ). Candidate should have excellent communication skills. This Job requires frequent communication & co-ordination within the team members, supervisors & internal clients as well as external clients. Should also have ability to effectively build cooperative relationships with people, manage differences and resolve conflicts.
