Job Description

  Enterprise Operational Risk Aggregation (EORA) is responsible for generating the enterprise level Operational Risk analysis for BNY Mellon overall, that will help Executive Management, the Board, select Legal entities, regulators and the broader community understand the enterprise operational risk portfolio to inform strategic decision making.  Consequently the following skills are required or ability to work towards these:   An ability to understand how the Organization works and how the different functions interact will be necessary as a success factor for this role.   A reasonable understanding of the broader industry and commercial environment will be required to ensure we are appropriately benchmarking our progress against best practice. This can be accomplished by reading various industry journals, attending relevant conferences and targeted research.  


This role will encounter challenges in working on a complex project and dealing with various stakeholders across the organization. Innovative solutions/ thinking will be required to overcome potential obstacles.   Minimum Education: A BA/BS degree is required Minimum Experience: 3 - 4 years of total work experience Minimum Language Skills: English Preferred Experience: experience in Control, Audit or Operations preferred.   • Have an understanding of operational risk management and an ability to understand and evaluate BNYM's ORMF against industry best practices.  • Strong organizational and documentation skills • Intelligent, team-oriented and hard-working. • Ideally have 3-4+ years of risk and control evaluation experience in functions such as operational risk, risk-based Internal Auditing, CCAR or SOX. • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential and may be necessary to influence and persuade others.  • The candidate must be able to work successfully with a diverse set of individuals and constituencies. • Will be required to work with others, take notes as necessary at meetings, and relay back information from meetings accurately and concisely. notes must be made/ kept in an organized manner

Risk and Compliance provide risk and compliance services across all BNY Mellon businesses. Organizationally, Risk and Compliance includes the following groups: Risk Management, Compliance, Global Corporate Security, Information Risk Management and Global Business Continuity. Risk Management oversees and delivers risk services and ensures new business risks are reviewed and approved. Risk Management is organized through Chief Risk Offices for each core business and critical operation. Risk managers provide shared support to BNY Mellon for operational risk services for Global Corporate Trust, Depositary Receipts, Treasury Services and Global Operations in EMEA. Compliance helps ensure BNY Mellon's businesses maintain appropriate processes to comply with applicable laws, regulations, BNY Mellon policies and ethics.
