Junior Quantitative Risk Analyst

Job Description

Within Model Risk Management, we are looking for an analyst who will work on the validation of financial models, conducting independent research, analyzing problems, formulating and implementing solutions, and producing quality results on time. The analyst will work on models that are reported to Senior Management and the Board of Directors on a regular basis as a key input to risk management decision making.



  • validating risk models for quantifying various types of financial risks (such as operation risk, credit risk market risk and interest rate risk) inherent in the Corporation's business activities and processes.
  • ensuring that model development, implementation, data input, reporting, documentation, validation and maintenance use best practices, adhere to consistency and quality standards, and follow the guidance of corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • ensuring that models use methodologies that are theoretically sound, with modeling choices, assumptions and parameters that are justifiable and supportable.



  • Familiarity with MATLAB, R and/or SAS;
  • Very good command of English
  • Knowledge on financial instruments
  • Very strong background in statistics – educational and professional
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent scientific and technical documentation skills
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

Risk and Compliance provide risk and compliance services across all BNY Mellon businesses.
