Analyst, Paralegal

Job Description

  The incumbent provides paralegal assistance and support to: general or specific areas of legal practice; corporate secretarial, subsidiaries and business committees; business lines and departments; and/or designated clients, regulators, outside attorneys and Bank customers.  Incumbents are new paralegals employed in a professional capacity, working under the close supervision of an attorney, administrative manager or a supervisory paralegal.  Assignments can be general or specific with some to moderate decision making latitude within defined and sanctioned (delegated) parameters.  


A paralegal certificate from a business school, college or university, or equivalent work experience (up to 3 years) is required.  Experience as a paralegal will be in a corporate, government or private legal firm environment.  Strong analytical skills; proven oral and written and communication skills; foundation in planning and organizing; foundation in problem analysis/solving skills; demonstrated ability to deliver precise and timely work products; ability to demonstrate initiative and high work standards; ability to manage multi-task and stress are essential.

BNY Mellon's Legal Department, has overall responsibility for government affairs and advises on advocacy and policy initiatives of the company to support BNY Mellon's domestic and international operations, and they also support all bank regulatory and supervisory issues.
