Job Description

The Payroll Admin checks and maintains complex payroll records for accuracy and completeness. Identifies and corrects standard errors and may correct some non-standard errors and confirm conclusions with more senior team members. Reviews and advises on the findings of more junior team members. Work consistently complies with payroll implementation and administration policies, procedures and all laws and regulations within the assigned region. Completes a large volume of payroll processing duties, including auditing timekeeping records, maintaining records of time and attendance, updating employee records, processing deductions and developing deductions reports. Processes completed may be more complex in nature and may also include processing executive compensation, including deferred compensation, stock options, restricted stock options. Is beginning to identify process improvements. Independently and accurately responds to inquiries from payroll colleagues, employees and managers about complex processing issues. Resolves routine and some non-standard payroll issues including performing in-depth research to determine appropriate responses to questions regarding the Time and Attendance system and inter-company transfers, among others. Accurately determines the complexity of inquiries and escalates only the most complex inquiries to the appropriate contacts. May address inquiries escalated by more junior support staff. Independently conducts data gathering, research and complex analytical tasks to support payroll processing activities. Maintains databases, electronic files and records. Compiles documentation and required approvals/sign-offs. Focus is on ensuring the correct processes are followed, checking for work quality and ensuring accuracy of completed work. May check the work of more junior team members. Audits and verifies accuracy of external and internal reports. Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions, and maintains records of leave pay and nontaxable wages. Conducts periodic audits of payroll records and compliance with region and organizational policies. May assist more junior team members as needed.


High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Bachelor s degree preferred. 2-3 years of total work experience preferred. 1-2 years of experience in payroll highly preferred.
